Small Business Counseling

SCORE Chapter 36 offers two ways to seek free confidential business counseling for your existing small business or for a future business still in the early planning stages. You can schedule a private meeting with a counselor or, if you choose, exchange information with a counselor by using e-mail.

One-on-one Counseling

Chapter 36 currently provides numerous counseling locations throughout Monmouth County where business clients can meet privately with a counselor. Some offer both day and evening sessions while others only offer day or evening appointments. Each session consists of two one-hour appointments. Weekday appointments are scheduled at 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. and weeknight appointments are at 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. One location offers Saturday morning appointments at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.

Counselors are preassigned to specific locations well in advance of each session and meet with the clients who have signed up for the appointments. At this first meeting the counselor will use the time to learn the details of your specific situation and establish a course of action. Often a single meeting will answer all your concerns, but very often the counselor must bring in additional chapter specialists and resources over a period of time. The length of time required to resolve the concerns of a client is solely at the discretion of the counselor and you, the client.
